SUBJECT: AFA-CWA Recognition of Councils whom ensure 90% or above membership dues payments.

STATEMENT OF QUESTION: Should the AFA-CWA Board of Directors recognize councils whom set out to achieve goals with their membership to ensure that at least 90% or higher pay their union dues.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Councils in our union whom set out and strive to gain 100% dues paying membership should be recognized in the year they achieve this goal at the annual Board of Directors. This idea was conceived in the findings that Miami Air MEC President-Natasha Glasper, MEC Vice-President Carol Wainscott and MEC Secretary-Treasurer Tashana Brown sets this goal each year with her members and assists International in ensuring that her members are paid and current prior to each B.O.D, so that she has the most accurate vote count. Natasha takes it upon herself to keep a watchful eye on who in her council misses paying and contacts that person direct prior to International asking for her assistance. Natasha understands that our Union is only as strong as its membership, and everyone must make the effort to pay to support and keep our union on going and strong!

PROPOSED RESOLUTION:

WHEREAS, a recognition be given to any AFA-CWA Council whom achieves 90% or higher of its membership paying dues should be recognized in that year this is met, by that years B.O.D, and

WHEREAS, a council whom achieves 90% to 95% receives a Recognition Plaque to be awarded by the presiding B.O.D, and

WHEREAS, a council whom achieves 96% to 99% receives a Recognition Plaque and a percentage of their additional B.O.D expenses, decided by the presiding B.O.D, be awarded for this achievement,

WHEREAS a council whom achieves 100% dues paying membership receives a Recognition Plaque, and 100% of their B.O.D expenses to include FPL, travel, meals, ALONG with the accommodations that are provided for the delegate will also be provided for all elected council officers to attend the B.O.D.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the AFA-CWA Bylaws and Constitution reflect this resolution titled "Incentive for the Local Councils" to be included in the appropriate area of Section III.
